Project SEA 129 Phase 5, calling for a medium-light weight UAS for operation from naval ships announce on 2 May that the Scheibel S-100 Camcopter had won the bid. Offered by a consortium of Raytheon Australia and Scheibel Pacific, the 200kg class UAS has already had an operational history with the RAN under a minor project, three units being operated in 2018 by 82XX SQN.
Although the final number to be delivered has been released, it is understood that the figure is about 40. The first of these are expected to be delivered in 2014 and will be operated from the Anzac and Arafura Class vessels.
